Introduction
- PPO Prison Ministry Program
Pagan
Pastoral Outreach's prison ministry program began in 1994
under the auspices of the Pagan Federation/Fédération
païenne Canada (PFPC).
In 2003, with the blessing and endorsement of PFPC, the people
involved in its prison work formed Pagan Pastoral Outreach
to concentrate on this and related ministries. In
the past, we have offered visitation programs in Ontario (particularly
the Kingston area
KP, RTC, Joyceville, Pittsburgh, Bath, Millhaven, Collins
Bay, Frontenac and Warkworth), and in the B.C. area (Abbotsford,
Kent, Mission, Mountain, William Head, Ferndale, Elbow Lake
and Burnaby Womens Prison)
as well as to the CSC chaplaincy headquarters. We
also provided long-distance supervision and visitation for
a Wiccan chapel group in New Brunswick, and advice to both
chaplains and Wiccan inmates in other prisons in the Maritime
region.
Unfortunately
due
to burn-out and health
we are no longer able to provide visitation to inmates in
most cases.
However, we still act as Pagan spiritual advisor to various
inmates and chaplains throughout the CSC prison system;
and on occasion, provincial prisons as well.
We
hope that you will make use of the various pages of resources
on Pagan Prison Ministry on this website.

PPO has developed a
Sabbat Lessons Study Program
program
which is available to Prison chaplains, and/or inmates free
of charage, and that can be requested by contacting
us.
Between 2002 and 2005, PPO members co-wrote (with the manual's
editor) and/or edited the chapter on Paganism and its various
branches, for the CSC
Chaplaincy Manual.
We contributed materials for the CSC
Restorative Justice Week. In
2003, one of our Elders wrote on Restorative
Justice from a Wiccan Perspective for
CSC.
